A new series "Cries of London" was introduced in the year 1991 with the Apple Lady. This cheerful lady was one of the first figures sitting down with both feet in the air. She became popular as collectors wanted to enjoy her all year round. She displayed apples and was dressed with either solid red leggings or a red and white stripe version. This series is limited to one year of production at which time the pieces become retired and can become very valuable.
